For decades, India’s baby apparel market has delivered little of the specialised care that newborns and young children require. In the absence of dedicated brands that ensure safe, comfortable and eco-friendly fabrics, synthetic materials and chemical dyes have continued to dominate baby clothes, prioritising cost and scale over safety.  Although modern parents aggressively audit labels and supply chains, the fabrics touching their infants’ sensitive skin have somehow remained a blind spot. That shift in perception is pushing parents towards babywear with clearer safety standards and traceable sourcing. With India’s kids’ apparel market projected to reach $29.3 Bn by 2030, demand is shifting towards organic, non-toxic materials and transparent supply chains. Moms Home was established to bridge this divide. Kumar Vaibhav, an IIM-Indore alumnus, and Bhupendra Agarwal, a textile engineer, built the brand on a simple belief: trust should extend from food to fabrics. Leveraging their experience of scaling an organic food business, they launched Footprints in 2018 as a specialised bamboo sock label.
